Introducing ALA – Oregon Chapter's Membership Points Award Program To assist in promoting the great educational programs, networking opportunities, and the community connection that our organization has to offer, 2008 marks the beginning of the Membership Points Award Program. This program is designed to motivate and energize our members to participate in all that ALA has to offer. Our chapter thrives on the participation and support of its members. To show our appreciation, we have designed a program wherein the more you're involved, the more you will benefit.By participating in a variety of opportunities within our chapter and some under the national ALA umbrella, you can be the first to earn enough points to reach our Platinum Level prize national conference registration! Or save your points and use toward ALA Bookstore purchases and general session luncheons. You can use the points the way that will benefit you the most. Our program will be counted retroactively to January 1, 2008, so many of you are well on your way to earning membership points toward great awards. If you are already a frequent participant in the variety of activities we have to offer, then this should be a simple task. If you have been limited in your activities, this is an opportunity to branch out and reap the rewards. It is our chapter board's goal to increase attendance and provide more benefits to our members. Building energy and momentum with our awards program can help us reach this goal. In order to track your participation, we will need your help. Registration sheets will be available at all meetings; be sure to sign in as you arrive to pick up your name tag. We receive lists of registered chapter attendees at both regional and national conferences and maintain lists of board, section, and committee members. In other areas, the board will stay in touch to make sure that credit is applied to each person's award sheet appropriately. If you have questions regarding your activity status or have participated in an activity that we may not know about, please contact our Membership Director. |
